Isaiah 2 :10-12 The Arrogant will be HUMBLED

Isa 2:10 Go in among the rocks and hide underground because of the LORD’S terrifying presence and the honour of his majesty.
Isa 2:11 The eyes of arrogant people will be humbled. High and mighty people will be brought down. On that day the LORD alone will be honoured.
Isa 2:12 The LORD of Armies will have his day against all who are arrogant and conceited and all who are proud of themselves (they will be humbled),

Isa 2:10 Go in among the rocks and hide underground because of the LORD’S terrifying presence and the honour of his majesty. 

Isaiah is telling them where to flee from the Dread of the LORD, (because of His WRATH, and the Splendour of His MAJESTY).

the LORD’S terrifying presence and the honour of His Majesty. – The Glory of His Shekinah Presence and His Majesty. Shekinah – 

The more time we spend in God's presence, His glory will be seen more in our lives.

Majesty
MAJ’ESTY, n. [L. majestas, from the root of magis, major, more, greater.]

  1. Greatness of appearance; dignity; grandeur; dignity of aspect or manner; the quality or state of a person or thing which inspires awe or reverence in the beholder; applied with peculiar propriety to God and his works.

Jehovah reigneth; he is clothed with majesty. Psa 93.

The voice of Jehovah is full of majesty. Psa 29.

It is applied to the dignity, pomp and splendor of earthly princes.

When he showed the riches of his glorious kingdom–the honor of his excellent majesty many days– Est 1.

The first in loftiness of thought surpass’d,

The next in majesty–

  1. A title of emperors, kings and queens; as most royal majesty; may it please your majesty. In this sense, it admits of the plural; as, their majesties attended the concert.

Notes on V.11. The eyes of the Arrogant will be humbled.

The eyes are where Arrogance and pride are expressed – He will not dare to lift up his eyes.

 High and mighty people will be brought down. The Pride of men will be brought low. Men can be so arrogant and boastful but the pride of men will be brought low. They will become low-minded and not High-minded.

On that day the LORD alone will be honoured.  The Lord alone will be exalted in that day. Yahweh alone…there will be no other. Men’s hearts will fail them for fear and because of the surpassing splendour of His majesty and the fear and dread of His Presence. Then He will set up His throne in Jerusalem.

v. 12 The Lord Almighty has a Day in store for all the proud and Lofty, for all that are exalted, (and they will be humbled.

The Lord Almighty – Heb. : Yahweh Saboath (The LORD of the Armies of Heaven.) He has a Day set aside when all the Proud and self-important and exalted will be humbled – brought down to size.

Watch out you proud, your day is coming. You will flee and seek to hide from the Splendour of His Majesty
